It has recently been reported that the equal load sharing fiber bundle model predicts rate of change elastic energy stored in reaches its maximum before catastrophic failure occurs, making it a possible predictor for imminent collapse. We address this using discrete element method to simulate breaking thin tissue subjected stretching load.
